Our passion for Quarter Horses and Australian Stock Horses
Nestled in the beautiful high country of Tenterfield, New South Wales, Timbarra View Quarter Horses is built on a lifelong passion for horses, a love of the Quarter Horse breed, and a commitment to producing quality horses with outstanding temperaments.
From humble beginnings and a childhood dream of owning a Quarter Horse, our journey has grown into a dedicated breeding program focused on combining proven bloodlines, correct conformation, willing attitudes and the versatility that makes the Quarter Horse and Australian Stock Horse so highly valued.
At Timbarra View, we believe a great horse is more than just breeding — it is about producing horses that are willing partners, dependable family members and capable performers across a range of disciplines. We take pride in raising horses with sound minds, strong foundations and the temperament to be enjoyed by riders of all levels.
A lifelong dream realised
Our stud is the result of years of hard work, and an unwavering passion for horses.
For many years, I worked in the building industry to provide for my family while holding onto the dream of one day working with horses full time. Every opportunity I had to saddle up and ride, I found myself wishing I could spend every day doing what I loved. But building a successful breeding program takes time, patience, and commitment.
Now, having retired from the building industry, I finally have the opportunity to dedicate my days to these incredible animals and pursue the passion that has been with me for a lifetime.
This journey has allowed us to devote ourselves completely to our breeding program, ensuring every horse at Timbarra View receives the time, care, and attention they deserve. Our program has been built from years of experience, a deep personal connection with horses, and a genuine desire to breed quality horses with the temperament, ability, and trainability to excel.

Our property: where horses thrive
I started breaking in Brumbies at the age of 14, and from those early days I quickly recognised something special about these horses. They were tough, resilient, and often possessed exceptional feet and durability. Their environment played a big role in shaping them — roaming vast areas, covering miles of country, and living in conditions where they had to adapt and look after themselves.
That experience influenced the way we wanted to raise our own horses. We searched for a property where our horses could truly “be horses” — a place where they could move freely, develop naturally, and experience an environment that challenges them.
We chose 900 acres of undulating to steep country, with plenty of natural obstacles and that important 'wild element'. Our herd of around 40 horses live in an environment that encourages them to become strong, sure-footed, and mentally tough.
We believe that quality horses are not only created through genetics and training, but also through the environment in which they are raised. A horse that has the opportunity to move, explore, and develop naturally is a horse that carries confidence and resilience.
