At Timbarra View, our journey began with a deep love for horses and a commitment to breeding excellence. We specialise in Quarter Horses and Australian Stock Horses, two breeds renowned for their athleticism, temperament, and versatility. Our stud is a testament to years of meticulous breeding, dedicated care, and an unwavering passion for equestrian pursuits.
Our story
The Story Behind Timbarra View Quarter Horses
My love affair with horses began at the age of 14, and it wasn’t long before horses became a lifelong passion. At 16, I discovered the world of Quarter Horses, and I was captivated. While attending TAFE, I would often walk into the CBD and visit the local newsagent, where I would spend time flicking through Quarter Horse magazines, admiring the incredible horses featured within their pages — including the legendary Morn Deck and the talented cutting horses that inspired so many.
At that stage of my life, owning a Quarter Horse was nothing more than a dream.
That dream finally became a reality when I was 27. A neighbour owned a Q-registered filly that always caught my eye as I drove past. One day, he visited to enquire about buying an old gas fridge we had inherited when we purchased our farm. When he asked what I wanted for the fridge, I jokingly suggested a swap for his Quarter Horse filly. To my delight, the deal was done — and I became the proud owner of my very first Quarter Horse.
From that moment, the journey continued. Over the years, I have been fortunate enough to own and work with many Quarter Horses, as well as several Australian Stock Horses.
When I officially retired from outside employment, I was able to dedicate more time to my passion, and Timbarra View Quarter Horses and Australian Stock Horse Stud was born.
What started as a teenage dream, inspired by magazine pages and a love for the breed, has grown into a lifelong commitment to producing quality horses with sound minds, willing attitudes, and the exceptional temperaments that make these breeds so special.
From the rolling hills of our property to the careful selection of our stallions and mares, every aspect of Timbarra View is designed to foster health, happiness, and outstanding performance in our horses.
